MUMBAI vs BOMBAY

You mus thave rightly figured out what topic I am gonna discuss in this post. Yes..I am talking about the same ridiculous issue that has sustained from a long time now, still continuing and which has slowly gripped the entire nation, including many of our national figures. We have someone called the King of Bollywood, who believes that he belong to Mumbai and not the other way round because this city has given him all that he wanted, may be even more. Then we have little master- the God of Indian cricket, who states that Mumbai is for all...(as if nobody knew that earlier ;) ). Then we have a business tycoon making a contentious statement that Mumbai belongs to all Indians. Little do we realize the fact that Mumbai is a subset of Maharashtra first and certainly it is a subset of India as well.

Let me put it mathematically, as per the theory of Sets. here we go..

Consider A as Mumbai.
Consider B as Maharashtra.
Consider C as India.

Statement # 1: A is a subset of B, denoted A ⊆ B
Statement # 2: B is a subset of C, denoted B ⊆ C
Hence we can make a Statement # 3: A is a subset of C, denoted A ⊆ C

But the point I am trying to make is that Statement # 3 is false if Statement 1 doesn't exist....as simple as that...So if one has to weaken Statement # 1, then the Indian constitution needs to be amended..i.e. there should be no division of India at all...there has to be no single State or Union territory in India- which, I think, is quite impossible. Then why there is war of words....why are we fighting against each other....why not simply accept Statement # 1 and close this issue once and for all?

The issue is actually very simple to which many do not think it as simple as I think. The issue is actually about the two idealogies in the larger picture...the ideology supporting MUMBAI(belonging to Maharashtra) versus the ideology supporting BOMBAY(belonging to India).

I understand that this is a very sensitive issue. However, I am likely to take a firm stand to support Marathi, Marathi people, Marathi language and will support all such elements strengthening Maharashtra's pride. There are lots of unanswered questions in my mind. One big question is that- Why is it that Mumbai belongs more to India than that to Maharashtra? (can we prove this as per Set theory?)...your thoughts please!

Hockey Mockery

As a contemporary Indian, I strongly agree to the fact that Indian Hockey is not taken seriously. It is ironic to see its present situation. Why hockey be discounted in front of cricket? Todays situation is that we, the Indians, follow Cricket more than our religeon. Why not hockey? After all, it is our national game. Isn't it?

Ab Mera Number Hain...

Uninor recently launched its GSM services across 7 circles in India. Needless to say, as this news is known to most of us. Moreover, we can see all around Uninor advertising (or selling?) its services through posters and banners and looking to add as many subscribers to its base. I feel happy and lucky to be a part of this launch. I was involved as as consultant at the client site(Delhi) to support the Product and to ensure complete functionality of the Convergent Mediation.

It was a great experience all over as I had never been to Delhi before. I had been to multiple offices as per the client requirement- some days at Gurgaon, some other days at Okhla. All in all, it was a great learning experience(....client facing, resolving issues, interaction with the stakeholders, etc...) for more than a month....I feel more confident than ever before, more recognized than ever before!!!

License to thrill

I have been waiting for a long time for this day and I am very ecstatic to tell you that yesterday I had successful trial on 4 wheeler at RTO (Road Transport Office), Vishrantwadi(Alandi Rd). I am very glad to get my permanent 4-wheeler driving license.

It was a very great experience learning Santro Car at the Khsirsagar Motor Driving school. Aha! I just loved driving. It feels great for a beginner. The training was very good and same was the trainer. Now that I hold the license, next question comes to my mind is - when will I be able to own a car for myself and my family?
